About Me :)
In 1999 I had a child and with my pregnancy I put on a crazy amount of weight. It took me some time to begin to lose it. I spent the first few years of my son's life just being a mum, working and getting things done. Fast forward to when he turned 10 and I started to realise that I was now on the 'downward' journey of motherhood. I was more than half way through, if you like...because I am sure that the moment he turns 18, he'll be living somewhere else and I will no longer be a mother, right? ;-)
I started to focus more on myself and getting healthy and fit. Together with my husband, I tried a few healthy eating 'diets'. Some worked, some didn't. I joined a gym; a place I once had labelled as a place where stay at home mums went when they had nothing else better to do. It was at the gym that I actually started feel like I was making a difference to the way I felt about myself. I got fit, I met some great people, I found a love of training and I learnt how to eat well, and as a result I started to look and feel great....with a couple of noticeable exceptions. After my weight gain and pregnancy, I was left with some really deflated breasts, stretchmarks and excess tummy skin. I knew one day I would 'get a boob job and a tummy tuck', but it really felt like it was always down the track, possibly when my son had moved on with his life.
I remember chatting with a friend who was in a similar situation about getting plastic surgery. We were going to do it. Really, we were. That was about 10 years ago, maybe more, when we had our initial chats. It wasn't until September 2015 that we actually made our initial consult appointment with Dr Michael Miroshnik and the rest, as they say is history. You can read more about my experiences in my blog pieces.
Thanks for stopping by my blog. Please feel free to get in touch. I am more than happy to chat about my experiences.
H xx :)
